Full program and full house: 2024 Student Info Day

From materials science to dormitory tours, between robots and racing cars, in lecture halls and laboratories: Numerous visitors came to our campus on April 20 to find out more about living and studying at TU Ilmenau at the Open Day 2024. We had a great day and are delighted that so many interested people found their way to us. We are excited to see who we can welcome in the winter semester - the application deadline is already open!

How does a power outage occur - and how can a city's power supply be restored? How do robots perceive their environment as embodied AI? And how can light technology be used to synchronize the internal clock when traveling? Scientists from TU Ilmenau answered these and many other questions during laboratory tours and in lectures for around 1000 visitors at this year's Study Information Day. Whether it was about autonomous driving, production technology or sustainability, there was also plenty of hands-on study to try out at the open day. At the I3TC - Ilmenau Interactive Immersive Technologies Center, for example, prospective students were able to accompany astronauts in the virtual world during an outboard mission or solve "The Riddle of the Lost Drawing" in an escape game in the university library.

At information stands and in personal discussions, prospective students not only learned everything about the study programs on offer at TU Ilmenau. There was also a presentation on each degree program followed by a Q&A session. Visitors were able to find out about studying abroad or studying with a child, disability or chronic illness, and receive advice from Studierendenwerk Thüringen on housing and student finance. A welcome science slam in the Humboldt Building provided an entertaining answer to the question of why studying at TU Ilmenau is worthwhile from a student perspective. During campus tours, students also gave personal insights into everyday student life and the colorful club life, club culture and the many opportunities to get involved and develop individually in Ilmenau

Throughout the Open Day, the university radio station Hsf, the oldest student radio station in Germany, ensured a good atmosphere and life on campus.
