Dear science and technology enthusiasts Master's students at Thuringian universities,

We are pleased to invite you to this year's Science Camp with the exciting topic "Biodiversity Monitoring - Complex Signal Analysis and AI for Bird Call Recognition"! This camp is aimed at anyone who wants to learn more about the fascinating world of bird song recognition and the technologies behind it.

What can you expect?

  • Data collection: Learn the basics of data collection and how to collect biodiversity data effectively.

  • Basics of biodiversity monitoring: Understand the importance and methods of biodiversity monitoring and how it contributes to the protection of our environment and how technologies can actively support this.

  • Model making: Build your own models of what a bird call recording station could look like that anyone could use.

  • IoT: Learn how the Internet of Things (IoT) can be used to collect and process environmental information.

  • Data Storage: Gain insights into modern methods for secure and efficient data storage.

  • Structural requirements: Learn what structural requirements are needed to set up successful biodiversity monitoring.

  • Bird recognition for everyone: Familiarize yourself with the latest technologies for bird call recognition and see how artificial intelligence can be used to support this.

  • Fact sheet

Our camp offers a perfect mix of theoretical knowledge and practical applications. Exciting workshops and interactive sessions will enable you to carry out your own projects and put what you have learned directly into practice. Participation in the exciting Science Camp on biodiversity monitoring in Ilmenau offers you numerous advantages that go beyond mere learning.

Registration:

Registration is open from now until September 7, 2024 via an informal e-mail (orientierung(at)tu-ilmenau.de) and should include the following information
