Give & Take Fashion Show on July 12: Clothes swap and fashion show in the spirit of sustainability

Through the manufacture, transport and useof clothing and shoes According to Greenpeace, more than 850 million tons of CO2 emissions are caused every year by the production, transport and use of clothing and shoes in everyday life. According to a survey by the environmental organization, around 40 percent of clothing in Germany is rarely or never worn. Instead, nearly 400,000 tons of clothing are disposed of every year. "So let's make sure that our clothes and shoes have a long life cycle!" appeals Mira Rochyadi-Reetz from the Working Group (AG) Sustainability in the Student Council (StuRa) of the TU Ilmenau and invites all students and employees of the university to the next clothing swap party.

Following the clothing swap, all university members and interested parties are invited to the fashion show at Finnhütten, Langewießenstraße 32, onJuly 13 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Join us for our second hand fashion show! Show us your used clothes, vote for the best and enjoy a cozy evening with snacks and drinks!

 

The "Give & Take Fashion" action will take place on July 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the foyer of the Mensa. All students and employees of the university can become new owners of unused clothes, bags or shoes during this period.

These items of clothing can be handed in on July 6 and 7 from 13:00 to 15:00at the collection point in the EAZ foyer.

Important: Please make sure that the items are clean and still in good condition!
