Researchers Presented Their Work at QoMEX 2024 in Sweden

In June 2024, members of the Audiovisual Technology Group at TU Ilmenau presented their work at the 16th International Conference on Quality of Multimedia Experience (QoMEX) in Karlshamn, Sweden. This conference brought together experts from around the world to discuss advancements in multimedia quality assessment.

The presented works from AVT were:

In the "Datasets and Tools" session:

  • "AVT-VQDB-UHD-1-HDR: An Open Video Quality Dataset for Quality Assessment of UHD-1 HDR Videos", presented by Rakesh Rao Ramachandra Rao

  • "AVT-VQDB-UHD-2-HDR: An Open 8K HDR Source Dataset for Video Quality Research", presented by Dominik Keller

  • "AVT-ECoClass-VR: An Open-Source Audiovisual 360° Video and Immersive CGI Multi-Talker Dataset to Evaluate Cognitive Performance", presented by Stephan Fremerey

In the "Statistical Modeling and Analysis of Subjective and Objective Image Quality Assessments (SS4) and QoE Management" session:

  • "Evaluating Visually Lossless Compression of JPEG XS, JPEG 2000, HEVC and AV1 in Selected Medical Imaging Modalities", presented by Bassem Elmeligy

In the poster session:

  • "Subjective Evaluation of the Impact of Spatial Audio on Triadic Communication in Virtual Reality", presented by Felix Immohr

  • "The Frankenstone Toolbox for Video Quality Analysis of User-Generated Content", presented by Steve Göring

In addition to these presentations, members from the AVT delegation participated in a workshop on "Measuring & Modeling User Experiences in XR" and a PhD mentoring session aimed at guiding young researchers.

The conference provided an excellent opportunity to interact and exchange ideas with Quality of Experience (QoE) researchers from around the world. It was a meaningful platform to discuss new ideas, address the challenges faced by the community, and explore innovative ways to tackle them.
