In conjunction with Jörg Schumacher's group, we have reported the working conditions for the Scaled Convective Airflow Laboratory Experiment (SCALEX). The SCALEX facility is a pressure vessel which allows for downscaling of laboratory experiments up to a factor of 20 by compression of gaseous working fluids, air, or sulfur hexafluoride. As a result, Rayleigh-Bénard convection experiments can be conducted at Rayleigh numbers up to 108.  Here, we have reported a sample experiment for Ra = 1.9 × 105.
