#ScienceExplained - how can your studies change the world? From February 6 to 8, 2023, the TU Ilmenau invites high school students to the #ScienceExplained theme days.In up to four live lectures per day on exciting topics for the future, prospective students will learn through practical examples which degree programs are available at TU Ilmenau and how they can help shape a sustainable future with their studies. What can physics, computer science and regenerative energy technology do for a sustainably better world? What does laser treatment of the eye have to do with mathematics? What will the materials of the future look like? And what does sustainability mean from the perspective of technical thermodynamics? Answers to these and other questions can be found from February 6 to 8 at the #ScienceExplained theme days.
The lectures, which are tailored to young people between the ages of 16 and 19, address current topics of the future: innovative wireless technologies, highly accurate precision engineering and the latest technologies for a stable energy supply. The students will learn whether and how viruses can become a danger in the course of evolution, why smartphones are becoming smarter and smarter, whether stepper motors really have something to do with steps - and how closely studies at TU Ilmenau are intertwined with research on these red-hot social topics.
All lectures will be broadcast online and participants will be able to ask questions directly via chat - about the topics covered and also about the corresponding study programs at TU Ilmenau.
