Technologie zum Herstellen von Werkzeugen zum Mikrospritzgießen durch Diffusionsschweißen. - In: Schweissen und Schneiden, ISSN 0036-7184, Bd. 58 (2006), 4, S. 189-195, insges. 5 S.

Modeling the PTA deposition welding process in constrain positions. - In: Proceedings of the 2005 Business and Industry Symposium, BIS '05 ; [at] Spring Simulation Multiconference, San Diego, California, USA, April 3 - 7, 2005, (2005), S. 19-24
Plasma Transferred Arc (PTA) process represents an efficient technology for improving surface properties of mechanical parts. Plasma transferred arc welded coatings show an excellent metallurgical bonding to the substrate with a low dilution of about 5%. However for mechanized applications of PTA on 3D components, only few experimental as well theoretical investigations are present in literature. The effect of gravitation force influences in this case the coating quality and the process reliability. Theoretical investigation allow a better understanding of the PTA welding process and enable to determine the influence of the process parameters and to successfully develop coating strategies for processing in different working positions. In this paper the theoretical background for PTA deposition welding in different working conditions are given. Modeling the PTA welding process occurs with consideration of different process parameters (plasma power, gun position, injection conditions, substrate properties). In simulation studies, the influence of these parameters on the resulting heat input, temperature field and coating properties are shown. The simulation results allow the definition of guidelines to adjust process parameters for a reduced heat input and a smooth coating structure in PTA welding.
