TU IlmenauOn Wednesday, June 19, 2024, this year's "Dies academicus" - the University Day - will take place at TU Ilmenau. Once again this year, there will be a varied program to which all university members are cordially invited.
Traditionally, there are no classes on Dies academicus, and we would be delighted if you would actively participate in the various program items:
It all starts at 9 a.m. in the Meitnerbau with SUNRISE Kick-off and in Humboldtbau with the PhD Day, which is all about academic development and is aimed at all doctoral candidates, Master's students and interested parties. Sessions on various aspects of the doctorate, a lunch talk with university alumni and a talent fair will provide you with important information, extensive support and plenty of space for networking.
Starting at 11:30 a.m., all university members are invited to participate in workshops with the Executive Board to discuss measures that will contribute to the implementation of the strategic development goals of the TU Ilmenau strategic development goals. The strategic development goals were the subject of discussion at Dies 2023 and were adopted by the Senate at the beginning of the year. This year, we would like to discuss measures in the key areas of studying and teaching, research and early career researchers and internationalization in the European research and education area with you. For better planning, we kindly ask you to register.
At the end of the day, we invite you to our summer party with music and space for personal exchange on the Ehrenbergwiese from 3 p.m.. The Bergfest e.V. will provide refreshments and organizational support.

Does the name SUNRISE mean anything to you? It is aprojectsubmitted on February 6, 2024, which is about building a Europe-wide university alliance.
The result of the evaluation is expected at the beginning of July. But we didn't want to wait for that at any point. So we have already started the first steps of implementation. SUNRISE was conceived as an initiative which, in addition to the requirements of the European Higher Education Initiative, also takes up the key points of TU Ilmenau's strategic development goalsand addresses a large number of the fields of action identified therein - our SUNRISE kick-off should therefore also be seen as a contribution to the development of the university's strategic measures.
As part of this year's "dies academicus", we would like to ask you for further participation and support for the SUNRISE activities and invite you to the SUNRISE Kick-off from 9.00 to 11.00 a.m. in the Meitnerbau! We want to see SUNRISE explicitly as a possible flagship initiative for the university's development goals, which will then be followed by the workshops from 11.00 am.
The workshop ‘Internationalisation in the European Higher Education Framework’ will take place during the kick-off.

1. WS Studies and Teaching:
We cordially invite you to a workshop on the further development and prioritization of measures that contribute to the implementation of the strategic goals in the area of studies and teaching. Based on the discussions in the Study Committee, initial proposals are available that can be reflected on, specified or supplemented in further steps.
Enter into a creative exchange with other members of the university and take the opportunity to contribute your ideas and suggestions directly on various topics and fields of action.
The participation of all status groups - students, teaching staff, researchers and administrative staff - is important to ensure a broad and diverse perspective. Their different experiences and points of view are valuable for developing innovative and effective measures.

We cordially invite you to a workshop on the further development and prioritisation of measures that contribute to the implementation of the strategic goals in the area of research and young scientists. Based on the discussions in the Research Committee, initial proposals are available which can be specified or supplemented in an open exchange of opinions.
