IfMK is one of the leading media and communication science institutes in the German-speaking world. In order to deal with complex and relevant scientific questions and problems, the institute focuses on interdisciplinarity, practical relevance and internationality.

Complex scientific questions and problems can be better dealt with through interdisciplinary cooperation. Both interdepartmental cooperation at TU Ilmenau and beyond bundle competences and are an indispensable part of research at the IfMK. Projects realised at the Institute are not only intended to answer fundamental questions, but also to contribute to useful and implementable insights for practice. Comparative research questions and international cooperation in research projects enable research from the perspective of different cultures or political systems, for example.

Researcher from the Group of Management/Organization attending IFERA 2024

Our group was represented from 19-21 of June at the IFERA 2024 conference, where the whole international community of research on family firms come together to present their latest research ideas and trends.

Maria Rosculete presented her first paper out of her dissertation project on the topic of innovation in family firms and received constructive feedback on how to proceed further. The presentation was also preceded by a doctoral consortium where she got to attend sessions such as debates on family business theories, tips and tricks for academic writing or meetings with editors from renowned journals in this field.

Now it’s time to get back to the research desk and dive into the insights provided by senior scholars during those days. We wish her good luck!
