The aim of the network is the application-oriented development of new biomedical processes and products for diagnostics and therapy with the help of magnetic nanoparticles (MNP). Furthermore, new areas of application for magnetic nanoparticles within and outside of medicine / technology are to be opened up. With the work of the network, specific product and process developments are to be implemented against the background of the biomedical application of magnetic nanoparticles.

Concrete research and development approaches of the network should lie in the following areas:

1. Applications - Development of specific products and processes for the use of MNP in biomedicine

The promising research and development results are to be transferred to specific applications in biomedical diagnostics and therapy. For this purpose, specific products and processes beyond medicine and technology must be developed.

2. Process technology - development and manufacture of magnetic nanoparticles

Building on the research, new products and processes for the production and characterization of magnetic nanoparticles for use in biomedical diagnostics / therapy or beyond are to be developed within the framework of the network.

For an optimal development of marketable solutions, projects along the value chain from research to application are to be implemented within the framework of the network - and, if possible, merged into an overall concept.
