Presentation at VHB meeting

The accepted paper is entitled 'What does it take to trigger change in corporate identity? Lessons from a fourth-generation family business'.

For the 43rd workshop of the Scientific Commission Organization (WK ORG), which will take place on February 14 and 15, 2019 in Münster, the submission of a project idea by Professor Bach and Marcel Maurer was accepted for presentation after positive review. The WK ORG is a specialist group of the Association of University Teachers of Business Administration (VHB) e. V. and organizes the annual workshop in particular as a discussion forum for research results and research methods with the opportunity to network German-speaking organization and management scientists. The new format Project Idea offers for the first time the opportunity to present and discuss ideas and the current status of an ongoing research project.

The submitted contribution is entitled What does it take to trigger changes in organizational identity? Lessons learned in a fourth generation family business. In terms of content, the paper builds on the now accepted research finding that the organizational identity (OI) of employees can change in the process of change. The key questions to be answered are: What events in organizational evolution prove to be, or are rhetorically transformed into, critical events or turning points that are triggers for identity change? What does it take to change the OI? What reinforces the continuity of existing OI, and what or what circumstances lead an organization to change its identity?

We look forward to the acceptance of the research idea as well as the technical discussions with our colleagues in organizational science, as well as the other papers that will be presented at the workshop.
