International Engineers for Thuringia

Participants will take part in language Teasers designed to introduce them to the learning of the german language. The language Teasers will be offered in form of interactive games where the students will make active use of the language which is a more effective way of learning

Participants will benefit from the International Student Advisory Service -  they will receive Advice before the start of studies as well as during the course of studies 
Participants will receive individual guidance on topics like enrollment etc. They will also get to know the teaching and learning culture at TU Ilmenau before arrival through Social VR. With the help of designated Subject Tutors, participants will also receive individual guidance on Study organisation (creating study time table, registration for courses etc.)

Participants will enjoy german language courses during studies as well as during semester breaks (Textbooks with faster progression will be provided), language buddy, language excursions, language learning get-togethers and language courses in the Community Hub of the Social VR environment

Participants will be provided with subject-specific tutorials, hands-on practice of subject-related topics, interdisciplinary and methodological courses on topics like Problem-solving skills, qualitative student surveys to determine needs, progress analysis and counseling when needed

Participants will enjoy Study support through intercultural offers in Social VR, socio-cultural counseling, get peer-to-peer guidance from we4you tutors of the International Student Service, intercultural Trainings for students, Excursions and various socio-cultural events (e.g. bowling, game nights, cultural festivities) 

Participants will be actively guided to find their feet in the Thuringian Labor Market. They will benefit from an array of offers like:

• Employer forums - companies from the region introduce themselves to students
• Company visits - the students visit the Companies on site 
• TU Ilmenau alumni report - students share experiences and network with Alumni
• Company tasks and trial internships
• Career counseling / Coachings on topics like applying to Thuringian Companies, Application Portfolio Basics etc.
• Establishment of a mentoring program with alumni and/or representatives of Thuringian companies
• Participation in career fairs within Thuringia
• Acces to Job Portal with regional offers for Students
