The TU Ilmenau is today (19.09.2024) handing over the innovation platform ThAFF-InnoNET, which emerged from a research project, to the Thuringian Agency For Skilled Personnel Marketing (ThAFF). Small and medium-sized companies can join the network and find out about modern forms of work organization and company management. The toolkit of methods available to companies on the platform is based on the results of the InnoFARM research project, which the TU Ilmenau carried out as part of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research's "REGION.innovativ" program.

For three years, DEGUMA Schütz GmbH, Geisa, LINDIG Fördertechnik GmbH, Eisenach, and SEALABLE Solutions GmbH, Waltershausen, tested innovative forms of work, such as the 4-day week, under the direction of the Management/Organization Group at TU Ilmenau. The result: if it is specifically tailored to a company, it can make the organization more flexible and at the same time strengthen the employees. Self-organization in production was also tested over a longer period of time and adapted to the conditions in small and medium-sized companies. Before, during and after the trials, researchers conducted interviews with the employees. Based on the findings, they developed 33 methods and compiled them in the method kit on the ThAFF-InnoNET innovation platform.

Companies that join the ThAFF-InnoNET network have access to all professional working methods - not only to the "Procedure model for introducing the 4-day week" and instructions on "Self-organization in production", they also benefit, for example, from the "Introduction of digital instructions" or the "Introduction of communication software". Specific techniques such as "Decision-making in teams" and "Rules for conducting meetings" also help them to organize their own work more effectively and with less friction.

The expertise pool also offers participating companies the opportunity to network directly with experts from science, practice and consulting. In the protected space of the ThAFF InnoNET network, they can exchange ideas and learn from each other. Together, methods can be developed further and completely unique, innovative solutions for work design can be found.

To this end, three workshops will be offered until the end of the year, for which interested companies can register. The aim of these workshops is to further develop methods or develop new approaches for the platform through mutual exchange. The long-term goal of the Thuringian Agency For Skilled Personnel Marketing, which now operates the platform, is to get companies excited about innovative and flexible work offers and thus retain skilled workers in the companies and in the region and attract new ones.
