The FabLab@TU-Ilmenau offers a central entry point to the open workshops at the TU Ilmenau. These offer access to modern (additive/decentralized) manufacturing processes and make it possible to produce individual items and high-quality prototypes. The central portal contains
- Information on workshops and learning spaces (equipment, capacity, access, opening hours)
- Information about machines, tools, exhibits (areas of application, technical features, requirements)
- Booking of laboratories, machines, training courses
- Integration of further offers
- Presentation of finished projects as a source of inspiration
As part of the examING project funded by the Innovation in Higher Education Foundation, the FabLab concept was implemented under the leadership of ZIB in close cooperation with the following partners and initiatives:
- IlmkubatorLab of the Ilmkubator start-up service at TU Ilmenau
- Makerspace@UB of the university library
- practicING - for more practical experience in engineering studies
