lmenau University of Technology can look back on an eventful history. Founded on September 16, 1953 as a university for electrical engineering, it was created in the midst of the challenges of the post-war period and the young GDR. A group of committed individuals laid the foundations for a successful educational and research institution, which entered German reunification in 1990 with an outstanding national and international reputation.
Our current exhibition pays tribute to the founders, the early graduates and the formative years of the university.
The public is cordially invited to embark on a journey into the history of the university and take a look at its beginnings.
