Our world is undergoing a digital transformation. Automated, networked driving will make travelling by public transport more convenient. In line with demographic developments, the aim is also to provide efficient and personalised access to rural regions.
At the Ilmenau research centre, scientists, public transport operators and local authorities are tackling these challenges by operating a real-world laboratory. Applications are being tested, solutions developed and expertise built up in a series of projects on smart mobility in rural regions.
