Analytical solutions of the problem of the surface shape determination of a MF containing different magnetizable bodies in an applied uniform magnetic field have been found for an arbitrary value of the magnetic field. The cases of spherical body (the axially symmetric problem) and cylindrical (the plane problem) are considered.

In this paper, the deformation of a magnetizable elastic body in an alternating magnetic field is considered from a theoretical point of view. The body deformation and velocity are calculated. Analytical and numerical results are compared with the experimental data.

Development and application of spherical shaped compliant structures with snap-through behaviour. - In: Actuator 08, (2008), S. 911-914

Instable behaviour of rigid and compliant structures is in most cases of technical applications an attribute which have to be avoided. Nevertheless instable behaviour of compliant structures can be used positively in form of a snap-through. An abrupt change will take place in case of a snap-through from a state of equilibrium to another state. The critical load complies with two or more states of equilibrium. The article will show the significant attributes of instable behaviour in form of a snap-through. This will be illustrated by the example of a spherical shaped structure. In consideration of non-linear material characteristics, the behaviour of such structures under pressurisation against geometrical properties was researched.
